I have always been insecure about the size of my lips, and so came to &Eve Aesthetics to see how they could help me.
Before my treatment, I was fully informed of the process, risks, and the outcomes I could expect. I had the opportunity to ask any questions and explain exactly what I wanted from the treatment. I felt more than comfortable going ahead, knowing I was in safe hands, and I was really excited to have a smile I was confident in.
The appointment itself took about half an hour. Firstly, my entire mouth and lips were numbed up using injections in my gums. This was such a bonus as I believe most places only offer numbing cream. I felt a slight scratch as the anaesthetic was administered, but after that, I couldn’t feel a thing. It’s quite a strange sensation – I could feel movement and pressure, but no pain whatsoever. It was almost like it was someone else’s mouth!
Celia took great care in ensuring I was always comfortable, while still achieving the best results possible. She used her skills and artistic eye to achieve a completely even result, which works in harmony with my other features. The results were immediate and it was such a special moment seeing my new lips in the mirror for the first time.
You can’t eat or drink after until the anaesthetic wears off – I tried drinking through a straw and couldn’t even tell if I had it in my mouth! It took about 2-3 hours for me to have enough sensation back to safely eat again, so I would advise eating before your appointment if it falls during a normal mealtime.
Once the anaesthetic wears off, it did become somewhat painful – I’d describe it as a dull ache. It was nothing unbearable, but certainly uncomfortable, so I’d recommend taking some painkillers as you begin to feel sensation coming back. My lips were a little sore for about 2 days and swollen for about 3 days.
Everyone swells in varying amounts after the treatment, so don’t worry if this happens to you. It is not indicative of what the final result will be, so just be patient and wait for it to settle. I used ice packs to help bring the swelling down and applied Vaseline to keep the area moisturised. I also chose not to wear any lipgloss or lipstick until I was happy they had fully healed.
If you are considering this treatment, I would highly recommend you go for it. The whole experience was positive from start to finish and I am thrilled with my results!
