Dermal Fillers

Dermal fillers are injectable gel-like substances which contain hyaluronic acid (HA). The HA contained within dermal fillers mimics a naturally occurring sugar which is found within the body. Naturally occurring HA is responsible for cushioning and hydrating the tissues of the joints, connective tissues, eyes and skin. When we use HA dermal fillers for anti-ageing, they hydrate the skin, lift the tissues, plump out lines and deeper wrinkles and can resculpt your facial features.

Dermal fillers can be used in many parts of the face. They come in a range of viscosities so  the most appropriate products can be selected for the most pleasing outcomes. There is a range of treatments for which dermal fillers can be used and are available at &Eve. These include:

Dermal fillers, when used correctly by a medical professional, are considered safe and can be extremely effective as a non-surgical alternative to more invasive procedures such as a surgical face lift or blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery). However, to ensure that you would be suitable for a dermal filler treatment at &Eve, we ask that you attend a no obligation, initial consultation, facial analysis and medical history check, so we can discuss with you the treatment protocols, expected results and determine that there are no medical contraindication which may prevent the treatment from going ahead. Once we are satisfied that dermal fillers will be an effective option for you, you can book your treatment. We make a charge for this appointment which is deducted from the cost of your treatment if you go ahead.

As dermal fillers sit within the skin tissues, you will see initial results straight away. There may be some swelling, tenderness and redness at the injection sites which can last a few days, so we usually advise that the full results will be experienced within 2 weeks of your treatment. If at that point you have would like any further minor adjustments, you can attend &Eve for a review appointment.

Results can last several months, but their longevity does depend on a number of factors. These include:

• The indication you are having treated (if it is a more ‘active’ area, such as the lips, results can endure for less time than for example a cheek enhancement)
• Your individual metabolism of the product over time
• The viscosity and quality of the product used (we only use FDA approved, high-grade dermal fillers here at &Eve)
• Your lifestyle (excessive sun exposure, regular strenuous exercise and smoking can reduce the longevity of your results)

The expected longevity of results will be discussed with you in your initial consultation.
