As we age, our skin can start to lack the resilience that it once had. Over time, endless facial expressions and sun damage can cause lines and wrinkles. There are two types of wrinkles, the first kind are formed when we create expressions, such as crow’s feet, forehead lines and glabellar lines (the vertical lines or “11s” that start to show between our eyebrows). The second kind are referred to as static lines and are generally seen no matter whether the face is at rest or creating expression. These lines are caused by skin laxity, UV damage and sometimes pressure on areas of the face when we sleep.
Botulinum Toxin Type A is a substance that can address dynamic expression lines, as well as a number of other medical concerns. As we are a medical aesthetic clinic, we are able to prescribe and treat a myriad of skin and body concerns using this product. The brands that we use are Botox and Azzalure. The treatment is virtually pain free, fast to administer and results can last anything up to 6 months at a time.
Azzalure and Botox injections can treat a wide range of problems, not only expression lines. Below are some of the areas and concerns that we can treat, here at &Eve…
There are many other uses of Azzalure and Botox, some of which may surprise you. Do ask your clinician about how we can help.
Anti-Wrinkle injections works by blocking nerve receptors to the muscles that cause movement in the face. This means that you can’t move them as strongly and reduces unwanted effects, for example wrinkles.
You may experience slight tenderness and small bruises for a short time after treatment. In some cases mild flu-like symptoms may be experienced as well as slight headaches. Painkillers can be taken after the treatment to ease any slight side effects. You will be given a list of aftercare instructions to follow after your treatment so you can minimise any potential side effects.
Botulinum A toxin injection is a very safe treatment and most people can benefit from it. However, as it is a prescribed medication, we will need you to attend a pre-treatment consultation and medical history check, so we can ensure that the treatment will not only be suitable and effective, but safe for you to undergo. This initial meeting is undertaken with no obligation and will give you all the information you need to know in order to make an informed decision whether you would like to go ahead.
